packaging
cardboard boxes
we designed a tough cardboard shipping box to fix fill refill bottles during transit with no need for tape, wrap or any other crap. transit boxes are made with >60% recycled fibres, fsc certified and printed with vegetable ink.
cardboard is precious. it’s in short supply. we make sure to re-use every piece we possibly can & make sure to take back the transit boxes that @fill_co 10 x 500ml bottles are delivered to our wholesalers in. we’ll keep re-using them until we can’t use them any longer. we send out bulk deliveries in giant re-used boxes from other places (we roller-out the name with efi ink & stencil with ‘return for refill’).
we’ll collect & re-use any fsc pallet boxes we send out over & over, until we can’t any longer.
return liners
we wash and reuse all plastic liners we get back from home refillers. all you do is freepost return the liner back to us when you’re done, using the flat-pack return box inside. we’ll wash it, refill it & send it out again. no tape & no stamps needed. check the faq for more info. infill
once any board reaches the end of its life as a box, we’ll shred & use for infill packaging & protection for online orders, pallet box deliveries or moving precious things around.
if we make more infill than we need we’ll let you know & maybe you’d like to use it too?
paper tape
we’ve always only ever used paper tape printed with vegetable ink.
how to return
each 5l & 10l box replaces the need for 10 x 500ml or 20 x 500ml new single use bottles respectively.
when you’re running low, pour out the last 500ml into your refill bottle. that’ll keep you going while you wait for a new box.

Bulk refills include freepost return box. We wash and reuse all bag in box liners that come back to us. Not recycle.

Glass bottles
All our bottles are reusable, made in the eu with 40-60% recycled tough lab-standard glass and infinitely recyclable.
Why glass?
It looks cool and it helps make refill an intuitive & permanent behavioural change. We believe that by using glass there is no compromise on design. When a product is being refilled we belive it’s important you can see what the product looks inside and the product level.
Screen printing
Our glass bottles are screen printed to avoid adding any plastic labels.
Boxes
We designed a special box to secure the bottles using no wrapping. The boxes are made with >60% recycled fibres, fsc certified and printed with vegetable ink.
Shredding
At fillville we have a shredder and all the cardboard boxes that cannot be reused are shredded and used as filling.
Pumps
Our lotion pumps and trigger heads are reusable. After being used many times, if they break, they are 100% recyclable as they do not have a metal spring.
Aluminium lids
We replaced all plastic lids to aluminium lids as these are infinitely recyclable and reusable.
Tape
We only use paper tape printed with vegetable ink.
