I like B-Sides. Tracks that get less attention than a heavily promo’d flip side. Often they’re less polished, more interesting, cooler or more experimental than an A-side. Fill Refill started out as a kind of B-Side idea. Now, we’re a bonafide B Corp!
What does being a certified B corporation® mean?
It means we’re now part of a global community of businesses for good. The ‘B’ in B Corp stands for ‘Benefit for All’. Becoming a part of the B Corp community means Fill Refill is actively working towards a more inclusive, equitable and regenerative future.
During the process, businesses must provide evidence of socially and environmentally responsible practice relating to energy supply, waste and water use, worker compensation, diversity and corporate transparency. To complete certification, companies also legally embed their commitment to purpose beyond profit in their company articles.
Why are accreditations important?
Any brand can claim their products to be Vegan, Cruelty-Free or made in the UK. We’ve spent a whole lot of time & effort seeking third party verifications to back up the claims we make… to make sure we do the things we say we do. Vegan Trademark, Cruelty Free International, Plastic Free, Made in Britain… amongst others. When you see the line-up of official logos on the back of our products you know that a specialist third party has validated the claims we make. We think that’s important.
In the same way, B Corp certification has fast become a recognised third-party verification for ethical business. When you see that a business carries the B Corp logo you know they’ve gone through some hardcore third-party assessments to measure their impact.

Fill Refill scored 104.6 points!
A company must achieve a B Impact score of 80 or more to achieve B Corp certification. The median score for ordinary businesses who complete the assessment is currently 50.9.

Becoming a certified B Corp is only the beginning…
It’s been a long journey to get here. We joke sometimes that Fill Refill might be the slowest-growing refill brand in the UK, but I think there’s something good to be said for that. We never set out to be an overnight sensation, refill & re-use is not a passing fad!
Thanks to our wonderful stockists, collaborators & fill seekers for helping us break down barriers to refill & to the brilliant Fill Refill team who believe in what we do. There’s a helluva lot we can still do better. That’s what we’ll be doing.
