Some things don’t need reinventing. Rose water is one of those things. Long before ‘face mists’ became a thing and ‘clean beauty’ became a marketing line, people carried rose water to cool skin, freshen up, scent their home and boost their mood.
As with many things we do, we wanted to make Rose Water Hydrolat available on refill because we like it. Phill’s Greek Cypriot Yiayia carried rose water all the time. Stuffing her case with it when she came over from Cyprus. We learned that the best way to keep it handy, is in a bottle, straight from the fridge (keeping it chilled is the first rule of rose water). Then, just spray it all over, everywhere, all of the time.
Rose water is one of those ancient, everyday home beauty staples that has survived every trend cycle because it does the job and it feels so good to use. A simple flower water made by steam distilling rose petals, the same as it ever was, for generations.
Our rose water is made from Rosa damascena 100% pure flower water. No synthetic fragrance, no dyes, nothing uneccesary. Just a simple botanical water with a fresh, soft, rose scent and a surprising number of uses.
Rose water has history. Ancient Egyptians were into it. Persians, Greeks and Romans too. Cleopatra was a giant fan. People have been splashing it on their face and pouring it into baths long before we said so.
